Equipment:
- Hot Rollers
- Heat Protector
- Sectioning Clips
- Brush
- Tail Comb
- Hairspray
- Shine Spray (optional)
- Grips
Instructions:
1. Brush through the hair.
2. Secure with sectioning grips. I chose the 50's style of applying rollers and began by sectioning my models hair in front of the ears and securing with clips.
3. Clip the rest of the hair away from the face.
4. Create a deep side parting.
5. Start with using the the blue or white rollers and work sideways down the sides of the head.
6. Then use the yellow rollers to use the brickwork technique down the back of the head to the nape of the neck.
7. Spritz the hair with hairspray and allow to sit and cool.
8. Once cool remove the rollers from the hair.
9. Shape the hair using the under and over method with your paddle brush.
Optional:
10. Take the front section of hair and pin back for a half up half down style.
12. Secure in place with pins and hairspray.
13. Shine spray can be used to add a healthy sheen to the hair.
As my model had quite short hair, I wasn't very happy with the finish of this style and think it could have worked better on a longer haired model. I could have been more careful with my sectioning which may have resulted in a less fluffy finish.
