Catwalk / Shoot Setting & Lighting

As I can't replicate a runway to shoot my catwalk looks on, I have decided I want to achieve a 'backstage' feel to my shoot. I like the way these above images are shot, the models faces are well lit which allows them to stand out against the busy, out of focus background. This is a style of photography associated with catwalk make up and often what is printed in magazines when used in a catwalk trend feature. To re create this, I could shoot in the make up studio or backstage room, using the mirror lighting to create the nice glowing effect seen in the background of most of the images.
